Vice Commodore Linda Newland called the
meeting to order at 6.08PM.
Linda thanked everybody for coming. She
asked the attendees to introduce themselves starting with the Senior Staff
Commodore present:

Commodore asked Staff
Commodore Wellnitz to lead the Pledge of Allegiance
Commodore suggested that
the meeting suspend the standard rules of order.
SC Jay Brown made the
motion.
Seconded SC Bill Lewis.
Motion carried.
Commodore Artof discussed
the recent incorporation of PCYA and the obtaining of Directors & Officers
insurance to put the organization on a sound footing.
Commodore Artof presented
the outgoing board members with a PCYA fleece blanket in appreciation of their
service.
Commodore introduced the proposed slate of
officers for 2006:

SC Bill Lewis made the
motion to elect the slate.
Seconded SC Joe Castagna.
Motion carried.
Commodore introduced 2006 Commodore-elect
Linda Newland.
Vice Commodore Newland made a presentation
to Commodore Artof of a Certificate of Appreciation and an engraved gavel to
mark his achievements in 2005.
Vice Commodore Newland thanked especially
those Staff Commodores and other members who had supported her in 2005 notably:
Bill Lewis, Joe Castagna, Haluk Akol, Jerry
Downer, Jerry Wellnitz, and Vern & Linda Bendsen.
Vice Commodore Newland introduced Rear Commodore
Jerry Downer.
Rear Commodore Downer had a report on the
awardees for the Horder and Langlais awards for 2005:
The Horder award was to the Del Rey Yacht
Club for its Junior Sailing program.
The Langlais award was to Russ Robinson for
outstanding contributions to sailing.
Commodore Artof called upon Staff Commodore
Lewis to swear in the officers for 2006, which he carried out promptly.
The business meeting was adjourned at 6.56PM
