PCYA Bulletin Board

• It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Staff Commodore Haluk Akol in December of 2007. Haluk has been an avid powerboater who has continued the tradition of the Pacific Coast Yachting Association in the San Francisco Bay area.

• The Deed of Gift for the Carr Regatta is currently being reviewed and may be changed to make the regatta more available and predictable to the future participants. The results of this study will be disclosed at the annual meeting in June 2008.

• Member yachting organizations are now eligible for a special priced officers and directors liability insurance policy. You may e-mail Staff Commodore Paul Artof for more information. He may be contacted by using his e-mail link on the home page

• The date for the 2008 Bi-Annual Meeting of PCYA is expected to be 11:00 AM of June 1st, 2008. The meeting will most likely be held at the San Diego Yacht Club in San Diego California. At this writing, PCYA expects the Soling to be the selection for the Jesse Carr race in June. Please check this website for further details.

• The Del Rey Yacht Club will be hosting the 2009 Marina del Rey to Puerto Vallarta in late January 2009. The race will change this year by having three legs for all Spinnaker and non Spinnaker racers. Although the end of each leg is not firmed up, Turtle Bay and Cabo San Lucas are currently being considered.
