Six skippers competed in the PCYA Annual Barusch/Castagna Predicted Log Championship on Santa Monica Bay on June 16-18. It was sponsored by the Pacific Coast Yachting Association, Hollywood Yacht Club, and Santa Monica Bay Power Fleet. The event was sanctioned by Southern California Cruiser Association and hosted by the Del Rey Yacht Club in Marina del Rey, California.

Thursday, June 16, through Saturday, June 18,
Hosted by Del Rey Yacht Club in Marina del Rey, California

Each PCYA racing association is eligible to enter two contestants (the returning 2015 Barusch winner is automatically eligible).  Boat owners who are able to put their boats into the boat draw are needed. All participants are cordially invited to attend the Pacific Coast Yachting Association’s Mid-year meeting on Friday, June 17th.

    2014 Barusch-Castagna Results

    barusch_trophyThe 2014 Barusch-Castagna Predicted Log Regatta took place the weekend of June 20-23, 2014, at Elliott Bay Marina in Seattle and was co-sponsored by PCYA and the International Power Boaters Association of Seattle.  Edward Denaci, with navigator David Weimer, won the championship trophy aboard the powerboat, “Redemption.” Representing the San Diego Cruisers Association, skipper Denaci along with skipper Robert Ehlers and navigator Denis Sempsrott won the Castagna Team Trophy.  The team of Bob Lindal and Jeff Ewell of the IPBA were a close second.     NOAA teams with U.S. Power Squadrons on coastal charts
