Commodore Artof read a recent letter of resignation from our
Secretary-Treasurer,
Commodore Artof also reported that official minutes from the
Annual Meeting in January have not been submitted.
The Commodore also handed out the semi-annual financial
report prepared by

Commodore Artof explained that
Mrs. Horder, contacted by Staff Commodore Pat Goodfellow, contributed the $500
for ongoing keeper trophies for the Garrett Horder perpetual trophy, which is
awarded annually. Staff Commodore Goodfellow will attempt to contact the Carr
family to request same.
The Commodore also handed out a
sheet with the updated PCYA inventory report prepared by
Regattas
Commodore Artof reported that the regattas went well. We had good weather and great racing in both divisions. Also, the Barusch trophy needs repair. This was discovered after the trophy arrived this weekend. He will check with last year’s recipients to find out if their association has insurance that would cover the repairs. He will also get an estimate for the repair.

thanked those associations that have sent their newsletters to her and’
asked others to
do the same so she can include shared member news.
Joint
Tahoe meeting in October
PCYA
received an invitation from the PICYA Commodore to attend a joint
dinner meeting
at
invitees
include SCYA and Recreational Boaters of California (RBOC). To
date, officers
planning to attend are the Commodore and Vice
Commodore. PCYA delegates are also invited. There will
be a social welcoming
event at South
Lake Tahoe YC on Friday evening and the dinner meeting will be
held at the Top
of the Wheel on Saturday night. Other activities are being planned
for
Saturday. Contact

information as room reservations should made by August 23. Special room
rates are
available.
2006
Annual Meeting
The 2006
Annual Meeting will be held in the San Francisco Bay Area. After
discussion, it
was decided to make arrangements, if possible, with St. Francis
Yacht Club.
Rear
Commodore’s Report
Langlais
requests for nomination letters and they were also available on
our website.
He also sent out notices by email to member associations.
He stated that
judges for each this year would consist of himself and the
most recent
winner serving as co-chairs, plus five other previous winners
in each
competition.
He suggested that
next year we should reannounce the Langlais and Horder
winners at our
general gathering for the regattas mid-year and remind associations
of the fall
deadlines for submission of nominations for the current year.
New
Business
After a
lengthy discussion led by Commodore Artof, the Board voted to incorporate
PCYA as a
non-profit corporation in the state of
and costs only
$50.00. Furthermore, PCYA has member associations in Washing-
ton and the
current Rear Commodore resides there and can be the initial agent for
service of
process.
D&O Insurance
After some discussion, the Board moved
to buy Director’s and Officer’s insurance for PCYA from Garvey Insurance
Company for $750 per year. Also, it was decided to offer our association
members information on purchasing the same D & O insurance for $750
providing they are incorporated as a non-profit, have no employees and have
less than $25,000 income annually. The
vote was to buy it for the remainder of this year and next year, but have a
discussion at the next Semi-Annual PYCA Board meeting on how to fund it before
we vote to extend it further.
2006 Regattas
Since traditionally the regattas are held in the home area of the Commodore, then next year they will be held in the San Francisco Bay Area. S/C Haluk Akol
Stated that PLRANC, the powerboat
member association, would be responsible
For putting on the Barusch/Castagna
regatta, but it only has 6 or 7 vessels that
Are active in log racing. He
suggested using sailboats if there was a difficulty
Finding boats to compete.
S/C Joe Castagna offered to serve
on a committee to explore the feasibility of
Doing the regattas in
Commodore Artof subsequently
appointed S/C Castagna and S/C Akol as
Co-chair and added

core committee.
S/C Bob Leslie complimented the
Bridge on the newly released yearbook and stated that we need to update our
deceased Commodore’s list. Commodore Artof will do this and put the revised
list on the PCYA website.
Arranging with Princess Cruise
Lines to sail out of
7, 2006 for a week’s cruise.
Prices are very good across the board. This is a fund-raiser and a few dollars
per room will go to PICYA. All PCYA members are
