The Jesse L. Carr Regatta is conducted in conjunction with a carefully chosen sailing regatta and intended to recognize the achievement of a sailing crew participating in a one-design portion of a larger regatta.
Among the many trophies offered in yachting competition, only a few recognize the indispensable values and virtues of the championship crew, while at the same time recognizing the organizational ability and talent of the captain. It is the purpose of this Trophy to recognize the essential team relationship between captain and crew. You can find the trophy’s Deed of Gift at this link. The Jessie L. Carr Regatta was conducted in conjunction with the Pac52 Cup held on September 28-30, 2018 at the St. Francis Yacht Club. The purpose of this Trophy is to recognize the crew as well as the captain of the top boat from a PCYA member association club, not only by virtue of their performance, but to include their names and specific identities in the annual bequest of the Trophy.
This year’s winner is Rio, skippered by Manouch Moshayedi of the St. Francis Yacht Club with crew Sebastian Moshayedi, Jeffrey Messano, Mike Menninger, Justin Shaffer, Hartwell Jordan, Morgan Gutenkunst, Ben Bardwell. Kieran Chung, Magnus Doole, Bethanie Maples, Ethan Doyle, Elliott James, Jeffrey Causey and Ryan Lynch.

The purpose of this Trophy is to recognize the crew as well as the captain of the top boat from a PCYA member association club, not only by virtue of their performance, but to include their names and specific identities in the annual bequest of the Trophy.
This year’s winner is Rock n’ Roll, skippered by Argyle Campbell of the Newport Harbor Yacht Club, with crew Luke Lawrence, Brian Janney and Anton Schmid.
PCYA’s Jessie L. Carr Perpetual Captain and Crew Trophy was awarded for 2016 to Shawn Bennett and crew of the St. Francis Yacht Club. This team also won first place for the overall Corinthian Division as well. Congratulations to Shawn and crew. The Carr Regatta was held this year in conjunction with the J/70 World that were held at the St Francis Yacht Club on the San Francisco Bay on September 24th thru October 1st. Neatly 70 boats assembled on the Berkeley Circle for the competition. The PCYA was very pleased to be a part of this world class regatta.The Carr Trophy will be displayed at St. Francis Yacht Club.
PCYA’s Jessie L. Carr Perpetual Captain and Crew Trophy was awarded for 2014 to the skipper and crew of Zephyr, a J-109 one-design boat, for their performance in this year’s Santa Barbara to King Harbor race. The winning skipper, Jack Mayer, and his crew were very honored and excited about receiving the Carr Trophy, which will be displayed at Del Rey Yacht Club. Zephyr’s crew included (in alphabetical order):

Representing the West Vancouver Yacht Club, the FT 10M “Prowler” (CAN #37) won the 2013 PCYA Carr Championship. The regatta was held during Whidbey Island Race Week near San Juan, Washington. Bruce Campbell represented PCYA and presented the Carr Trophy. The winning crew was:
